Things to Do

Flightseeing
There is loads of wilderness to enjoy!

Rent a boat to fish for some of the plentiful rainbow trout, or paddle a canoe to explore the lake, see a beaver lodge, or watch the pelicans as they fish.

Enjoy a day hike around the edge of the lake, along the sheer volcanic canyon wall of The Precipice, or up the Mt. Kappan Lookout Trail for a magnificent 270 degree view of the Pacific Coast Mountains.  Or take in the incredible Rainbow Range Trail for truly amazing views, alpine flowers and lakes.  All hikes are easy to moderate.

The Eagle's Nest property has been described as "a birding hotspot" (Whatcom Watch newspaper, Bellingham WA) - the grounds and lake are alive with birdlife of all descriptions (see Birds and Wildlife).

Take a spectacular flightseeing tour!  Eagle's Nest can arrange this truly not-to-be-missed experience.  Departing from our dock in a famous Beaver floatplane, in no time at all you will be in the midst of rugged mountaintops, massive glaciers, and roaring Hunlen Falls.  Returning to your comfortable Eagle's Nest accommodations, you can enjoy a sumptuous evening meal in our dining room.  See our EXPERIENCES page for details about these amazing trips.

Eagle’s Nest is the perfect base for day trips down “The Hill” to the Bella Coola Valley, and is nearby the amazing Chilcotin Grasslands (see our EXPERIENCES page for more information).

"It's hard to describe the feelings I get from this beautiful spot."
I.Stuzenegger, N. Vancouver, BC

If you prefer, just relax and enjoy the beautiful view from our licensed Guest Garden, where you can order a snack or a beverage while gazing over the lake and listening to the hummingbirds buzzing by.

In winter, enjoy cross-country ski across the frozen lake, snowshoe in the woods, or take a spectacular snowmobile trip into the Rainbow Mountains. Of course, you can always curl up by a cozy fire as well.
